A Google Business Profile allows potential customers to find you via Google Search and Google Maps. Your display will include information about your business including:

Eligibility

Your business is eligible for a Google Business Profile:

If your business has a physical location that customers can visit

or

You  are a service business that travels to a customers location to perform a service

For example:  a plumber

When someone searches “plumber near me” your plumbing business will show up on the Google map search result page, allowing the customer to easily contact a local plumber.

Postcard By Mail

Before your business can appear on the Google Map Search Results Page, Google must verify your business address. Follow my video above to establish your Google Business Porfile. Once completed, Google will send a postcard to your business address within 10 days.

Submitting Verification

Your postcard should arrive in approximately 5-7 days. Inside the perforrated envelope is a verification code.   Log back into your Google Business Profile page, enter the code and complete your registration.

Completing Your Profile

Upon receiving your Google postcard, sign back into your Google Profile. Enter the code located on your postcard and complete your profile setup. Your account should change to status: verified. The Business Profile Manager dashboard is replicated below. Click on each tab for details or insights on completing your setup!

When a customers uses the

a call is placed to your business phone
and it is documented here.

Don’t Be Alarmed

Customers connect to you through a forwarding number
– not your number listed in your business profile
If you try to call from your cell phone to test it out, like I did,
don’t be alarmed if another number appears on your cell phone.
